Miles Fawcett - Urban Alarm
Social Entrepreneur, Technologist, and Media Artist With over eighteen years of experience in communications technologies, visual arts, marketing, and business, Miles' vision has guided the development of a number of entrepreneurial and social ventures.

Miles founded iapps in 1994 creating an organization that uses Internet technology to effect social change. His leadership has guided iapps to work with over half of the top twenty foundations in the US and win close to a hundred awards for design, business, and workplace innovation.

In 2005 iapps merged with Bridgeline Software where Miles took a leadership role in technology and operations as an Executive Vice-President and Chair of the Technology Committee. Miles worked with the executive team to successfully take Bridgeline Software public on the NASDAQ stock exchange in 2007.

Miles has launched other ventures including Urban Alarm, a physical security company, and other media and internet based projects.

An active painter, photographer and documentary filmmaker, he has produced a number of films, including one on a unique subculture of retirees who travel the United States in Airstream Travel Trailers. His art has been featured in many venues including the Corcoran Gallery of Art and private exhibitions in Washington DC.

Miles graduated from the Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. He has served on the faculty of American University Graduate School of Communications, and the jury of Computerworld Smithsonian Honors Program. He is a participant in Renaissance Weekend, a member of Young Entrepreneurs Organization, the Overseas Press Club of America, and The {Motion Picture} Producers Guild of America. Miles was born in Washington DC where he continues to live with his wife and two daughters.
